Curriculum Structure
As a Teen Facilitator, you are a peer (aged 13-18) who has participated in this grief group and feels ready to guide others through this process. Your role is to lead discussions, share examples from your own healing journey and show interest in participants’ growth, development and goals for this group. You will work collaboratively with an adult support who will help you manage the technology, time and fellow peers.
As an Adult Support, your primary role is to help foster the emotional and physical safety required for teens to show up authentically. You will recruit teens, screen participants, and review safety and confidentiality protocol with teens’ guardians to build an effective support group. While the teen facilitator will lead most group activities, you will help them respond to difficult responses from their peers, collaborate with them to provide psychoeducation, manage in-group disturbances, and follow up any advanced care requirements of group members.
