Peer Healing is focused on creating a community for bereaved teens. We encourage you to submit writing and/or artwork to connect with your peers and use your creativity as a catharsis. Accepted work includes long- and short-form articles, visual art, poetry, music, videos, and more! If you are interested in sharing your work, please review the guidelines for submission outlined below before completing the submission form! If you have any questions, you can visit the contact us page, and fill out a contact form with a message regarding your inquiries or concerns. Submission Guidelines:
  • Submissions should relate to the topic of bereavement and losing someone in your life.
  • We firmly support the open discussion around grief and loss, but ask that any work you submit refrains from including or using inappropriate language or explicit images. To further establish a safe and welcoming environment for any bereaved teen, we ask that you remain mindful when submitting work that in some way addresses more sensitive topics.
  • Although grief is universal, it is a very personal experience. We ask that you do not make assumptions about other bereaved teens and do not suggest that any other teen’s situation or experience is more or less difficult than your own.
  • Our team might edit written content before it is officially published on the website. However, before these changes are made, we will notify you and get your permission, because we believe it is important to stay true to your experiences and feelings.
Logistics:
  • Submissions of visual content (i.e. a drawing, photography, etc.) should include a title and brief description of the work. Submissions of such content should be either a jpg, TIFF, or png file, should not exceed 500kB, and should not exceed 800 pixels. You can compress your image if needed by using ImageRecycle.
  • For video submissions, we ask that you first upload your video to a platform such as YouTube or Vimeo. Once that is done, you can submit the link to your video to our website.
  • For work that has previously been published elsewhere, we ask that you please include the name of the location, and, if necessary, a link to that location with your submission.
